Sort of finished inking the first two pages of my comic, anyways. That's some semblance of progress, right? RIGHT?


I'm losing my miiiiiind   How's everybody else doing? 

Ah, those new year feels!  Goodbye, 2016! Ugh, what a crap year. I mean, on the one hand, I got a job. Financially, I've been doing alright. Which is good. Emotionally, it's just been a f***ing terror. Nothing can beat good ol' 2012 though! So, there's that!    You know, 2013 sucked pretty bad too. And 2015. 2014 wasn't... terrible? SO, YOU KNOW, MAYBE 2017 WON'T BE HALF BAD.

...but given the empirical evidence provided by 2016, that's doubtful. 

On the bright side! 2017 is the year Mass Effect: Andromeda FINALLY comes out! And I'm going to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert this year! We're getting some really good movie releases in 2017 too! Aaaaaaand I'll be old enough to DRINK!    (don't judge me)

...It's kind of sad what it takes to make me happy :bademoticon:  Seriously, just watching Markiplier videos has helped me through these past few months.

Well, here's to hoping 2017 is a good one! Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!  I'm planning on uploading the first chapter of the Sci-Fi story I'm working on (if I can think up a title for it), finishing the first chapters of a couple web-comics I'm working on (Dr. Villainy and his Evil Minions, Knighthood: of Guilds and Rebels, and Russel & Oni), and HOPEFULLY getting around to finishing up my Data portrait. SERIOUSLY, I NEED TO GET THIS S**T DONE. I'm going to buy myself some nice paper, and finally start all of these projects I've been brainstorming on for years now. 

In reality, cheers to another year of procrastination and false promises T_T

    Look who's back! I don't have much art to upload right now, mostly because I haven't been drawing too much lately. It's all doodles and sketches. Most of my efforts have been put towards writing, and working on panels for some comic and graphic novel concepts I made up (haven't done much in the way of actually execution). I'm kind of working on inking a picture though, and that might get uploaded soon. Also, I got a job back in June! Sure, I'll probably be fired by the end of this month, but it's been fun! I'm a cashier at Target (aka RED card salesman). LOVE my co-workers, and my supervisors are all pretty cool. Haven't had a lot of time to draw, but I'm a much happier person when I working. 

    I'm hoping I'll be able to finish some more stuff to put up here, but it'll probably be a while. Maybe after I lose my job lol. Miss you, my DA peeps!  

(BTW, I can't believe I'm going to be 20 this month. I joined DA when I was 12. Crazy shit, man)

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Let's see... 6-7 years, I think. Underage at the time, too. 12 year old me couldn't wait to get on DA and share her creations with world Almost wish I'd waited. Little Me has said a lot of stupid, ignorant s**t over the years, and I'd like to think I know better now.

2. What does your username mean?
Aaah, 'pixiedust96'. A reminder of the days of my fairy obsession. It's all I drew really. But hey, I can draw a mean butterfly in ten seconds flat now, so I suppose my time wasn't completely wasted XD 96 is for my birth year, because 'pixiedust' was taken.

3. Describe yourself in three words.
Geek, Strange, Open-minded

4. Are you left or right handed?
Right handed.  

5. What was your first deviation?
Dang, I was so proud of this when I drew it.

6. What is your favorite type of art to create?
Anything that can make someone smile, or think. Characters that I've made stories for, or fan-art of established characters that I love.

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I don't think there's such a thing as mastering an art style. There's always something new to learn.

Anyways, I try not to look at art that way. It's not healthy for me. I just draw what I feel or imagine, and the rest comes on it's own.

8. What was your first favorite?
This is the first one in my Favorites folder, but a lot of stuff got organized into other folders back then, so I'm not really sure if it's the first or not.

9. What type of art do you tend to favorite most?
Fan-art, probably. But for the most part, I just fave things that I'd like to go back and look at again, that create an emotional response in me.

A good Daredevil quote goes, "[...] it's not about the artist's name, or the skill required, not even about the art itself. All that matters is 'How does it make you feel?'"

10. Who is your all-time favorite Deviant artist?
No fair. I don't like playing favorites. But... I do love & 's work. So much heart in every piece. 

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?


because five deviants are better than one :3

12. How has a fellow Deviant impacted your life?
's kind words never fail to inspire me, and makes things a little better when I'm having a bad day

13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
Pencil and eraser. ESPECIALLY eraser. I don't think I could do anything right without one. Oh, Copics, Multi-liners, and watercolors too.

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
In my backyard in the summertime, when the blackberries are ripe and you can smell them in the air. Sitting in the grass with a sketchbook and headphones... I'd say that's where I feel most inspired to draw... well, where it's easiest anyways. Inspiration often comes to me in strange ways, no matter where I am. Somewhat problematic when you're at the Burger King drive-thru and forgot your sketchbook and headphones.

15. What is your favorite DeviantArt memory?
It's kind of silly, but my favorite DA memory is from way back when I drew all those emo dolls. Another deviant was making fun of them a bit, and after a while I just decided to ignore them and move on. Later on, as I was looking back through my deviations, I stumbled upon that deviant's comments again. Only, I saw that when I had left, my friend had come in to defend me. It made me feel good, and thinking back on it reminds me of how many good people I've been fortune enough to meet here on DA... horai being one of them (miss you Bernie!).
